I should probably apologize for all the text posts lately (with another text post). I don’t have internet at home and the library connection is really slow, so I’m doing this all on my phone where it just happens to be a little difficult to reblog things. So hang tight, let’s get through this summer and I’ll be back completely in September!

I spy with my little eye…high schoolers that were definitely only freshman last time I saw them. This is weird. I’m not comfortable with this. They are not allowed to be Juniors I tell you! Just plain not allowed.

I posted a new story!

This time it is a Sherlock one, and despite my fear of not quite writing the characters correctly, I am super proud of it so you should go take a look!

It is also on fanfiction if you would prefer to read it on there instead of AO3. 

Why is it this hard to come up with a good title!?

It really pisses me off when people say things like “oh, you listen to that? That’s black people *insert any other race/ethnicity/qualifier* music.”

Call me crazy, but I didn’t realize the color of my skin or my heritage, or anything other than my sense of hearing and rhythm was a factor in what music I can like.

If I want to listen to Chopin AND Tone Loc I can. Or the Beatles and Mary J. Blige. One Direction and Salt n Pepa. Nirvana and Stevie Wonder, even. My appreciation for music of all styles is not defined by what is “acceptable” for a 20 year old white American girl. It is defined by a love of music and sound.

Limiting yourself to things that are acceptable to like is to limit yourself to a life of unfulfilled musical potential.

It should not be this therapeutic to work through issues by writing fanfiction, yet somehow it is. I am nearly considering not posting my Sherlock fic because it almost seems too personal. I probably will post it anyways though. It’d be a shame for it to sit finished and unread.

Library is closed for Confederate Memorial day so I’m gonna be making myself a semi-permanent fixture in this McDonald’s for the day! 

And in other news, I’m trying to manage pain levels by fixing my diet. Which is just all blown to hell today by that cup of ice cream and the soda. Also the m&ms in my purse. I’m so bad.

My stupid neighbor changed the wifi password. Grrr. This means no more home internet except for my cell phone. Why do men become such raging dicks when their wife leaves them?

Mom asked me why I think Ianto was the best character in Torchwood. When I proceeded to passionately explain she made the pissy face and told me to stop.

Stupid civic duty. I’m gonna vote, get some movies from the library, then vegetate for the rest of the day.
